Last night

Caught this on my way home. This is the main road to get into Lancaster. We were stopped just as medics were arriving.

There were cars everywhere on the other side of the squad vehicles. I think I got there just after it happened as there wasn't much of a backup yet. They were turning people around on the other side of the road.

  1. Oh Gosh! What's the story?

Here...just yesterday...a 70 year old lady pulled onto the interstate...GOING THE WRONG WAY...an 18 wheeler hit her head on...instantly killed her...then the driver of the truck...of course having no control of his vehicle...crossed the interstate and hit another 18 wheeler head on...killing that driver also.

  3. LANCASTER -- Two men were taken to the hospital with injuries sustained about 6 p.m. Wednesday in a four-car crash on U.S. 33 just west of Ety Road.

Thomas J. Dunnington, 28, of Lancaster, was driving a blue Jeep Wrangler that sideswiped a Chevrolet Monte Carlo while turning onto U.S. 33 from Election House Road. The Jeep was going south in the northbound lanes, according to a release from the Ohio Highway Patrol.

The Jeep then hit a Ford Escort, forcing it into the path of another car, according to the release.

Dunnington was transported to Grant Medical Center. The driver of the Monte Carlo, Brian Allen, 39, of Lancaster, was taken to Fairfield Medical Center. Their conditions were not available.

The other drivers and occupants were treated at the scene, but there were no life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

The northbound lanes of U.S. 33 were closed for about two hours while officers tried to clean the scene.

Alcohol is thought to have been a factor in the crash.

  10. Maybe you should submit the photo to the paper for the story.

It looks dark on my monitor ...probably just the monitor since everyone else is fine.

  15. We had one this week too - a motorcycle hit a pickup when the truck turned in front of the motorcycle. After the bike hit the truck it was thrown into the other late of traffic. Someone who saw it said there was blood everywhere. And my sons wonder why I don't want them riding bikes.
