FIAF #56 - The Highlander

The Highlander watched the mist roll in from the mountainside, and felt a tremor in the cold air. The Clan DeGrantham was secure in their small chapel, praying for whate’er it be to sooth one’s individual soul.

He knew there’d be no peace this night, as the tremor turned foul, and the army rolled in.

  3. Wow! What a contrast between the peaceful scene and the imminent danger! And the difference between their prayers and the coming reality is well played out, too! Excellent, Duckie!

  4. Oh, no. Send the army somewhere else, not to this beautiful valley.

  9. nicely done, yet sad little story... the thought of a potential battle coming to such a lovely area. I like that they took solice in prayer in their chapel, and may they find peace...even if just within themselves.

  10. My first thought was "There can only be one!" :-) Great little story, although i fear they may regret hiding in a small church in the valley instead of taking the high ground.
